Bali - Part II

I hope you are ready for Part II!

I think I can probably squeeze Parts III and IV (out of curiosity – did anyone else not learn roman numerals at school? Maybe I was taught but I am certain that none of it sunk in..) into one blog post, coming up on Monday.

Lychee Daiquiri enjoying the view from Rock Bar.

As you can see, when holidaying in heat, the best option is to slick my hair back and keep it off my neck.
Humidity (read: sweat) does not go well with curly frizzy hair. Not well at all, let me tell you.

We had a post wedding party at Rock Bar which pretty darn awesome.

This is my “I don’t want this photo but Holly is snapping anyway”sleazy face.

I’m wearing a plain black sundress from a Bali market and my G.E.D necklace for a splash of colour in my otherwise boring underdressed outfit.

I didn’t think about the amount of flashes that would be accompanying photos that night and went braless – so to everyone who has photos of my nipples, I do apologise.

Looking moderately underdressed next to Holly.

Thanks a lot Holly.

How awesome are the jelly sandals that my sister sent me over from Ireland?
I love them! Takes me back to my childhood.

Does anyone know what these delicious morsels sent from heaven are called?

They are filled with coconut and brown sugar I think. Whenever they were not on offer at breakfast my heart broke a little.

We had a great dinner on the beach at Jimbaran Bay, where you literally dine on the sand and as far as the eye can see are restaurants all spruiking amazing seafood and meat.

We had rice, satay chicken, garlic prawns and bbq prawns which were all delicious.

Pretttttty sure my coconut wasn’t really this big. It's all an illusion.

Perhaps I ate too many burgers, sandwiches and pizzas but I love the ol’ comfort food.

The spa was amazing and I was lucky enough to have two 75 minute Balinese Massages there.

You are give disposable underwear, slippers and a robe and then seated in the tranquil surroundings and given ginger tea whilst waiting for your massage.

I fell asleep both times, which I just hate to do since I feel like I am missing out (plus – I am a snorer after all..).

I don’t wear sunglasses but took Kates $4 fauxbans off her hands and they came in handy by the pool.

Lunch for one.

I smashed down about 10 pizzas during our stay. I am not exaggerating.

I know that I should immerse myself in the culture and go crazy on the Balinese cuisine but I am a creature of bad habits.

We did eat curries and what not, and lots of Indonesian fare during breakfast though so I don’t feel too bad.

We had a day of jet ski-ing and water activities and it is fair to say that cotton socks will never get on a jet ski with me again.

We nearly rolled it one too many times, then got caught in a wave (it was pretty choppy in our defense) and had a race against time to get in the middle of the wave before the break. By this stage we were both hysterical, I’m not sure if we were crying or laughing though and I tried to take us back to shore and save the day.

Of course we got into shallow water, scraped the bottom against a rock and then had to face the evil waters again to make it back to the boat where our guides were waving their arms frantically and not looking very happy with us where I was hoisted on to the boat and cotton socks was taken back to shore – still on the jet ski.

Maybe you had to be there, but it was scary yet exhilarating.

This isn’t me, this is Alicia but imagine this photo with cotton socks and I both on there screaming and possibly crying for dear life.

Back on safe land in the comfort of my towel.
Ahh so good to be off that jet ski!

The others all had a round of the banana boat and donut but I gave it a pass, thankfully considering that everyone complained of Whip Lash for days to come.

I'll definitely go on a jet ski again, but perhaps in a lake.. on calm flat water.
