Bali - Part I

Well, my holiday is over but as always, it is good to be home.

I always find that even just stepping off a plane into Tullamarine is always a relief, even if it is 7 degrees and I am sporting only a sundress, havianas and sun burnt legs.

The nuptials of cotton socks took me to Bali, for the third time.

I hadn’t been since I was about 13 and the streets were exactly as I remember them being, but this time there was nobody to haggle with my mum about what price she would sell me for.
She definitely haggled for a higher price but in the end decided she would keep me.

I think I will have to have a few Bali posts as there is just too many photos to cram in one post, and I will be blogging about the beautiful bridal shower and amazing wedding in the near future - after cotton socks has blogged about it of course!

We stayed at the Ayana Resort and Spa for 10 nights, arriving at about 3am and Holly has not stopped complaining that we were not given a flower lai the entire time, ha.

Don't judge my pasty skin. It was the start of the trip and I need a few days to work on my tan.

I was loving the huge fish that were in every pond and there is not secret to how they get so big, everyone feeds them.

Who needs a baby sitter for kids at breakfast when they can sit there and feed the fish?

I'm about to be reprimanded in this photo by cotton socks for not breaking my bread up small enough.
She always has great hair. Even on holidays. How is this possible, HOW?!

She also doesn't dress like a homeless person on holiday, much to my disappointment.
Listen guys, I have no time to be glamorous in real life or on holiday. I'm far too lazy for that nonsense.

I'm obsessed with Mangosteen. Could not get enough of it.
Pretty excited to discover that Coles stock it, but have no cracked it open yet to see if it is fresh.

Lychee and Dragonfruit drink
I'm not big on Dragonfruit. I don't even know why I ordered it really.

The sunset was always a sight to be seen, so beautiful. We missed it more than a few nights, but all good.

Speaking of missing things, I was in grave danger of missing my flight.

We have a special box for passports and birth/marriage certificates etc and I was just assuming that my passport was in there, as usual.
The Husband reminded me to get it out the morning of the flight when I was packing, and low and behold – it wasn’t in there.

I felt the blood drain out of my face and tore the apartment up looking for it. By this stage I was in tears, I had people at work searching everywhere for it, and was on the phone to the passport office who told me it would take at least 48 hours to get a new one.

By this stage The Husband was not even sympathetic and got in the shower. When he finally got out only to see me at near heart attack status he helped me search and suggested I looked in my handbags to which I snapped at him “I only have two and I checked them already”…
20 minutes later I look in all my ‘other’ handbags which hang on the back of the door and surprise surprise, there it was.

It always hurts when the men are right.

I love this photo. I want a palm tree.

I took this photo from the inclinator going down to the Rock Bar at Ayana which was gorgeous!

This is the Infinity Pool down by the cliff where Rock Bar also is, but as it only has about 10 beds you have to get there early – as in 7:30am.

Holly and I missed out every time we went down there but Alicia had secured a spot at practically dusk which we got to take over for the day, it was amazing.

There isn’t much that I love more than room service, and pool service is at that level.

I must admit that when eating pool side I do end up with crumbs in my cleavage and belly button and I have no idea how this happens.

It looks overcast in this photo but it was about 30 and perfection if you ask me.

Taking our awesomeness to a whole new level right here.

The staff at Ayana are awesome and so willing to snap a photo or 10 for you!

If you go to Ayana make sure you get up early enough to secure a bed at the Infinity Pool, it is so worth it.
