A Failed Family Portrait

Having a bad day?

These are sure to cheer you up, and if you don’t feel the need to smile whilst looking at them it is very, very possible that you have a heart of stone.

We tried to get a shot of Geefa, Thomas & I and this was the outcome.
Don't stress though, Liz got a good one on her camera!!

Yesterday was Thomas' 2nd birthday!!! How time flies. I remember when he was fresh out of the oven, looking like a grumpy old man.

Have I told you what he calls me?

UNCLE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

He can't say Maryanne and doesn't differentiate between aunty and uncle yet, so I end up as Uncle Man!!
I don't want it to ever change!!

Henry is so cute I just want to gnaw on his face.

Liz & Dave breed such cute children.
There is a good chance that The Husband and I will have an ugly baby, I can just feel it in my waters. Do you think that parents know if their child is heinously ugly, or do they think it is amazing regardless?

Remember when Thomas was born?
Oh, you don't? Never mind, here is a refresher for you.

You should hear Thomas sing Happy Birthday! He sings "Happy Birthday TOOOO YOUUUUU" - Perhaps you had to be there, but it was great. I'm taking Ash-Rose to visit Thomas & Henry tomorrow so it is bound to be a great day.

Liz had filled Thomas' room with helium balloons so naturally Dave & I had to suck the helium in and sing with our new and not so improved voices.

Thomas received an awesome trampoline, amongst other things, and I could not resist jumping on it with him, resulting in me double bouncing him and he landed flat on his back. For a moment of horror I thought I had broken his back, but he soldiered on.

My sister Cat dropped my brother Joseph on his head when he was a baby. The jury is still out on whether or not he is normal though.

Anyhoo, just wanted to share the joy of my amazingly cute nephews.

You are welcome.

Peel #3 @ Miss Fox

The time had come for my third Aspect Jungle Brew Peel at Miss Fox Melbourne

I've been spacing them about between 3 weeks, but unfortunately the before and after photos from my last one are still on my camera, which The Husband has, and since he has it, there is a good chance they will never return.

You can read about my first peel here if you need a quick refresher on how I struggle to breathe through my mouth.

I ducked into Miss Fox yesterday after work and had had a terrible afternoon, so the ever so lovely Sarah-Jane was working double duty, not only was she treating my skin, she was also listening to me vent and huff and puff like it was going out of fashion! Two-for-One!

The treatment took place in the Sapphire Spa Room.

I'm not sure why I have never taken photos of the rooms before considering how gorgeous they are. Very serene and relaxing.

This little bad boy is helpful like a sturdy string whilst bungee jumping.
The burn lasts for a few minutes and the fan really helps with it, not to mention it is cute!

I need a pillow with my name on it.

I love products so seeing these all lined up so neatly brings a little flutter to my heart. Ahhh.

This dog is both creepy and adorable.

My skin has been purging and all of the big angry flame throwing spear jabbing pimples are gone, with only the smaller bumpy ones remaining. These are much easier to cover and are not usually too red so this is definitely an improvement.

A week before my first peel someone said to me "Oh God!! What happened to your forehead?!!".
Well, it was just a pimple. Undecided who was more awkward after that, them or me.

I needed to get some new products so here is my new regime:

Jane Iredale The Handi Brush

Out of curiousity, how often do you wash your brushes?

Jane Iredale Mineral Make Up PurePressed Base - Latte

I'm not sure why I didn't buy this sooner considering how awesome my skin looks whenever Luna and the lovely ladies at Miss Fox do my make up using it.

I cant wait to start the new regime, I'll report back.

I've met quite a few blog readers whilst at Miss Fox and this has me curious, have you been to Miss Fox? What did you have done? Did you see me there?

Anyhoo, it's early and I have to dash out for a blood test before work so adios! Have a good day

Hump Day

Hump Day. It just doesn’t sound right, does it?

I’ve decided to embrace pants. The only reason being that I have no need to shave my legs, as its not like I have anybody to share the bed with and slice their legs open if my hairy buggers touch them.

If you have read this blog before, you probably know that I prefer dresses and skirts, but these Zara pants aren’t too bad. Once you get over the shame of wearing pants that were intended to be worn as cropped pants on normal size people, that is.

I’ve paired them with a Target top and Tony Bianco wedges. For some reason all of those shoes that I bought on super bargain status are feeling quite snug, even though I tried them on and walked around the store without pain. Must break them in and suffer in silence.

Edited to add: You can buy the top HERE on the Target website. Who knew they had online shopping??

Chicken drumsticks, anyone?

I am slowly getting through the Essie polishes and then I will move on to my new China Glaze polishes that arrived on Monday. Luckily I have nothing better to do with my time.

I’ve had to keep my nails relatively short (for me) as they break at boxing. Not pretty.

Essie - Escapades.

I feel like it is more of a coral/red rather than a traditional red. It also does not have as much coverage as I normally like. I’ll live though.

After boxing on Monday I wandered into Big W, aimlessly killing time before going home and stumbled across this storage/tackle box in the mechanics section, for the whopping, debt inducing price of $9.

That’s right. $9. Bargain! It has successfully fit 67 of my nail polishes into it, and the older crappier ones can stay in their shoe box.

I’m going to need another tub as The Husband has strict instructions on not to return to Australia without a haul.

I had some new business cards made up as people have been asking if I have any when the fact that I have a blog comes up. I am way too embarrassed to offer this information up to anybody as it feels really lame, but if somebody asks if I have a hobby I guess I can say blogging. Does anybody else with a blog feel like it is lame to say it?

People just assume that everyone with a blog is a narcissistic weirdo. The weirdo part may be true of me, but I’m undecided on whether or not I am a narcissist.

I didn’t want to put my last name on the card, as I already have enough people googling “What is Domestic Divinity’s last name” “Where does Domestic Divinity live” “How much does Domestic Divinity earn” “What does Domestic Divinity’s husband earn” etc etc.  If you want to find this stuff out I might as well make you work for it, no need to just hand it over and put it on a business card.

My Lite n Easy arrived at 7:10am on Tuesday morning, a welcome change to when it was delivered at 5am the previous times, and I stumbled down, bleary eyed in my pajamas ready to scare the delivery driver only to discover that he had just left it on the letterboxes. Lucky nobody else was hungry.

Is anyone interested in a day by day run down on the food and what I thought of it?

If so, here is day 1:

Breakfast: I eat my own porridge in the morning as I hate the LNE breakfasts, unless it is just a muffin with jam.

Morning Tea: Cinnamon & Nut bar – pretty good, I was craving something sweet so this hit the spot.

Lunch: Beef Nachos with melted cheese and fresh salsa – Delicious!!! Smelt so good when the beef was cooking in the microwave that my tummy was going insane. Not enough corn chips though.
There was a slight ‘tang’ to the salsa but I cant work out what it was. I’m not really that full after eating it unfortunately.

Afternoon Snack: Diced peaches in juice – standard. Still starving though.

Non-LNE Snacks (woops): Strawberry dipped in chocolate and a slice of cheesecake. What can I say, I was bloody hungry.

Dinner: Macaroni & Cheese – I don’t know what I continue to order this as I don’t even like it that much. Quite heavy and gluggy. The 3 tomatoes on top taste terrible. Too cheesy, but I suppose the title should have warned me.

Night time snack: Banana & Apple Bread – This was from Day 3’s lunch option but I was still hungry so had to nosh on something.

Last time it took me a few days to get used to the food amounts during the day, but dinner is usually pretty filling.

I’ll keep you updated. As I am doing LNE purely for convenience, I am not too fussed about eating foods that aren’t included. If I was doing it for weight loss I would definitely be more strict.

For reference, I am on the 1200 calories meal plan.

I'm going to have to get some normal food anyway as my niece is staying with me for the weekend.  Can hardly put her on LNE now, can I.

In other more exciting news, I have an amazing give away coming up shortly from The Make Up Box Shop!! Stay tuned and get excited.

Red Lips on The Weekend

When I said that I would be keeping busy and catching up with family and girlfriends, I didn’t expect that I really would be so busy!

Saturday morning I headed to boxing, which is still killing me by the way and then spent the entire day (literally from 9am until 8pm) cleaning, redecorating and rearranging our apartment as we were having an Open For Inspection on Sunday.
I have never cleaned so thoroughly in my life, and the apartment has never looked so good, if you ask me.

At least I know that it will stay clean and clutter free with The Husband gone. He is a document hoarder and only drinks bottled water so we always have a million empty water bottles laying around, driving me nuts.

Cristina messaged me asking if I wanted to hit the town and my reply was, Hell Yes.
We ended up having a night of dancing and fun, which ended at sunrise and eating a kebab. Those late night kebabs are killers.

I figured that it was as good a night as any to rock a red lip, and paired it with my ASOS Ponti dress, the one I wore to my work Christmas partywhich split at the bum, but had a thin red belt and the top pinned at the top to create a different look. I don’t have any full length photos so you will have to take my word for it.

I still haven’t fixed the hole in the bum so took a risk and safety pinned it, and wore a black slip underneath for extra protection. So far so good.

I did not feel like putting much make up on so a little bit of eyeliner and some red lips made me feel a tad more dressed up, and ready to face the world.

I just wore my standard red lip combo:

Chanel Liner – Framboise Lip Pencil #37
Chanel Lipstick – Rouge Coco Gabrielle #19
Chanel Gloss (only in the centre of the bottom lip though) - Rouge Allure Lip Gloss Exces #60

It stayed on all night, despite drinking and hoovering a kebab. Did not budge. Best lipstick ever.

I’m ready to try a bright pink lipstick and would love some suggestions on the best ones out there!

I lost my nose.

After my looks fade late at night, the lipstick remains faithful, ha.

My fridge is all ready for Lite n Easy to be delivered tomorrow.
Cannot wait. I’m just doing lunches and dinners.

One of the worst cluttered mess stations in the apartment would have to be our dining table which doubles as a work study area too, even though we have a desk in the spare room (which is really a junk room).

In all honesty, the before photo was actually taken after 80% of the crap was removed and either re-homed in a more appropriate place (read: the bin) or put in the correct spot.  The after photo shows what remains on the table, being 2 candle sticks and a bowl of faux apples. This is all I plan on having on the table again.

If The Husband thinks he can come home and mess it up again, he has another thing coming!!

This is a portion of the spare room. I really want to paint the turtle tank stand white, but this would involve emptying the tank and having someone help me lift it, and then painting it which would probably take some effort. I also want a new study desk but of course this will all have to wait until we move house, when we will be buying all new furniture and starting fresh. Fresh to death.

As you can see, the ironing board is up and out of the way, and the gigantor super cool iron has been re-homed onto the desk. I don’t intend on ironing in the next month so these can stay here. The umbrella has been moved to more suitable housing too.

Does anyone else have a junk room? The clutter just never ends.

I found that Essie – Luxedo wears really well, but after a full day of cleaning, it did not stand a chance.
I didn't have time to redo it before I went out so I just had to paint over the chips which I freaking hate doing.

I saw these in Diva yesterday I cant help but think it is ridiculous. People buy these Saint/Church bracelets when they are blessed by the priests, and obviously Diva have decided that they are now fashionable, so why not make a crap plastic alternative.

Seriously?!

I want to get this clock up in our bedroom over the bedside table, but not working as the ticking will drive me insane.
None of the clocks in our house are actually functioning as I can hear them when trying to sleep and I lose my shiz.

This clock is actually huge, and totally awesome.

It will match the black and white linen that I have on the bed at the moment.

I redeemed my chipped polish look by applying Essie – Fiji, but it took 4 freaking coats to look right.

I had to rush out to go to dinner at Chin Chin with Holly Pop & Cotton Socks and managed to dent it, as usual.

We had a great night, but I am here to say that I don’t get what the fuss is about Chin Chin. Seriously.

The food was good enough, but my king prawns were dry and rubbery. Not awesome.
The service was not great, we were practically snarled at by our waitress who hates life.

You are squished in like sardines with the people at the next table so close that they can hear your conversation, and mock you openly. Losers.

Luckily I was in great company!!

How cute is my niece playing in my shoes. They aren’t even that big on her, which is a worry!

So, how was your weekend?

Shoe Bargains!

What better to put a smile on a dial, than bargain shopping.

I had to go and have my Werewolf face banished back to non existence (i.e; I had some threading done at Miss Fox & it didn't hurt as much this time!!) and afterwards I trekked to Southern Cross Station shops, which I thought was DFO but apparently I was wrong...

It was like a ghost town in there with nobody shopping and more than half the stores are just empty shells.

It worked well for me though as I needed some new work shoes and got some serious bargains.

Tony Bianco
Betty Patent Heels in Cherry
Was:  $159.95
Paid:   $42.00

Windsor Smith Whisper
Black Kid Patent

As you can see, I got some damn good bargains!

I also picked up two cute little tops from Portmans, but will show them whenever I get around to wearing them.  Means I need to wear pants or a skirt, which is so much more effort in the mornings than just pulling out any ol' dress.
