After our hellish flight out to Savusavu we were met by rain, and our cheery faced driver who took us to our third and final destination, Koro Sun Resort which is about 15 minutes drive from the small airport. It didn't take long for the rain to stop and the sun to beat down. I have never felt such strong sun in my life.
We were greeted by a fantastic foot scrub and massage, along with a fresh coconut to drink before we were taken to our bure ‘The Honeymoon Bure’ – it was older than I expected but I was not about to complain, after losing a night due to the weather I was just happy to finally be here. The Honeymoon Bure was surrounded by lush greenery and it was a long flight of stairs to get to it so very private.

One of the pools, the other had a water slide!
Before we got around to unpacking, there was a knock on the door and one of the staff said they would like to upgrade us to an Edgewater Villa as we had missed a night and they don’t offer refunds for weather related issues. We went to have a look at the other villa which was located in the new section across the road and were definitely happy for the upgrade!! The Edgewater Villa was also 2 story, but very new and had a kitchen, outdoor pool, 2 bathrooms, sitting room, 2 balconies and stairs leading in to the water below. Beautiful!
I was going to go snorkeling off our deck, until I was climbing down the ladder and a Sting Ray went past me! Then I saw a sea snake and it was all over. Apparently due to the bad weather a lot of sea life that would not normally be this close to shore had washed up.
S decided that since there was a golf course, we were going to play. Well, to be more specific - he was going to play and I was going to be his caddy. Yeah right. Who the heck does he think he is? My Coach?
On a 35c day, I don't think I really want to be following him around on a golf course. I gave it a shot but ended up lying under a palm tree complaining so he sent me on my way. Wasn't it enough that I played tennis with him?! I do not do sports, people.
There were a tonne of fish around the marina which was in front of our villa and the staff gave me some fish and bread to feed them with which was fun but the fish were not as interested as I had hoped. I might as well have just eaten the bread my self.
The view from our deck. At night time little lights could be seen all over the shop as people went crab hunting in little boats during low tide.
There were so many frogs jumping around at night.
Ohh you know what else there were? MONGOOSE! (What is the plural here? mongeese?) anyway, they were awesome. I was running around trying to take a photo of one when the staff asked what I was doing and I replied that I was catching it. The guy shook his head sadly and said "You never catch mongoose. He too fast for you!" I think he thought I was actually going to try and catch it!
We sat on the marina fishing with a reel when S caught the first and only fish. He was so proud and proclaimed his love for fishing when he got the hook stuck in his finger and now hates fishing. I told him he might need to see a doctor after the rusty hook got stuck and I have never seen someone run for antiseptic so darn fast. ha.
I made him throw the fish back :)
Just floating around, loving life.
The mongoose is in this photo - can you see him??
One night we watched the movie 'Chloe' in our living room. Okay this movie freaked me out so much. I couldn't go to the bathroom without S standing by the door in case Chloe appeared at my window or something!! Have you seen the movie? Thoughts??
I decided to put the camera down and enjoy the last 2 days of the honeymoon with my husband, without saying ‘Stop – need to take a photo!!’.
We were taken to a nearby Waterfall which was one of the most amazing sights I have ever seen (actually I was really annoyed that I didn't take my camera), and it was here that we were given the best massage I have ever received in my life. With S on a massage table next to me, looking out on to the lush greenery of the waterfall and hearing the steady water sound, it was the most relaxed I have ever been. An hour of bliss.
When it was done, S could not stop talking about how amazing this massage was. It was definitely worthy of 100/100!!! If you ever go to Savusavu, you MUST go to Koro Sun for a massage. The masseuses’ have unbelievable talent.
On the walk back to the hotel the staff pointed out a giant 'Sour Sop' which is this awesome green spikey fruit they have, and they got it off the tree and cracked it open for us to enjoy. It was really tangy and well, sour.

Our last night we had our dinner in a secluded villa that was on the water with windows all around, candles and rose petals and the sea breeze. Very romantic and special. It was the perfect end to our honeymoon.
I can't wait to go back to Fiji. Where is your fave place that you have ever visited?
On our flight back we were in Aisle 1 so had all the leg room, and then this woman decided to sit next to me since her original seat was next to 2 children. She proceeded to pull out all sorts of veggies (corn, beans, tomatoes etc) and just munch into them. Then she started to read the bible out loud, and hum majority of it after she had read it. I’m sorry but cant she read inside her head?!?!! I was just tired and cranky from sitting at the airport for SIX hours before our flight.
Upon our arrival in Sydney we went to check in with Qantas domestic and they changed our flight so we could leave straight away, rather than waiting another 2 hours for our Melbourne flight. That was nice of them. Damn it was good to be home.
