Olloclip for iPhone!!

Reading blogs can get expensive. I always see things that I want to buy but normally forget about them after a few days. I read a blog post by an american girl who I found through the Purse Forum and she said that she had just bought an olloclip. 

I'm not very technological but I googled it and discovered that it is a detachable lens for the iPhone!!! I did not know that such awesomeness existed in the world.

I found one on eBay but it worked out to be an extra $10 so I just bought it from the actual olloclip online store for $70. It arrived within 48 hours which I was quite impressed about! 

I find it bothersome to carry my Canon digital cam around with me, and it has a scratched lens and the shutter doesn't open properly automatically, so it is a pain in the bum. I mainly got the olloclip for the macro function.

Basically, the lens clips on to the iPhone and cover the camera and is a 3-in-1 lens with a Wide angle, fish-eye and macro!

It's pretty small so doesn't take up much room in my handbag.

Edited to Add: The worst thing about the olloclip? You can't use it when you have a cover on the phone. It's going to be pretty annoying to have to take the cover off every time I want to use it!

It also takes a little bit to get the hang of using the macro lens SO close to the subject. It has to be practically touching.

Woohooo! I love it!!!! What other awesome technological stuff is out there that I don't know about yet??

Sorry that this post is so picture heavy, I was bored. Sometimes I wish I had a super awesome camera to take super awesome photos with, but I am no photographer so that would be pointless I guess.

I finally got my iPhone screen repaired. I know, 3 months later.

I actually think that my eyesight was deteriorating from looking at the cracks all day. Killer.

The Husband and I trekked (and by trekked I mean we drove, with The Husband in the back-seat because our passenger door won't unlock, and me being his chauffeur in the front) to the Vic Market on Sunday despite the gale force winds as we are fasting this week so we needed to stock up on seafood. 

We walked past a phone stall advertising that they would repair iPhone screens so I thought 'what the heck' and got it fixed for $100. 

I also got this super cute happymori iPhone case. Love it,

The front has little heart pictures on it too.

I feel like I have a brand new phone, who would have thought that the screen could make me hate it so much?!

Dried Wedding Bouquet

A couple of days after our wedding, I was staring at my bouquet as they started to get a little sad looking and on a whim contacted The Flower Factory to ask if they could preserve them for me. I am pretty sure you are meant to arrange this stuff before the wedding, but I didn’t think that I wanted it done.

It was only when I decided that I could not see them die that I decided framing was an option. I had seen some horror jobs, but the work at The Flower Factory looked pretty nice and they were able to fit me in if I sent it in that day.

I must admit, because I wasn’t planning on having it being framed I was not as careful with it as I should have been, even letting Ashleigh-Rose walk in to the reception with it when she couldn’t find her own, meaning I walked in with no flowers and then proceeded to watch her throw it around until she found her own bouquet (which was not lost, my mum had it) I did not put it in water on the wedding night, and even took it to brunch the next morning to get full use out of it!!

I emptied one of our wedding presents out of its box, willed it with tissue paper and newspaper and popped the bouquet in and sent it on its way.

 The service from The Flower Factory was great, there were a few times when I was late with payments and they were always really nice about it.

It took two months to be finished, and then they held it for me whilst I was in Fiji and sent it when I was ready.

I did laugh when the courier gave it to me ‘no signature needed’ and then saw this sticker on it. Come one guys, if a signature is required, get a signature!! No wonder so many packages go missing etc.

I has been curious as to how it would be packaged, and let me tell you, it was with plenty of bubble wrap.

When I opened it I had a “hang on, my flowers were so much more colourful” moment and then remembered that the colour is partly lost in the process.

I feel a little sad for them, void of colour and trapped in a glass frame forever, but am actually really happy with the job done as have seen many that are squished and not pretty at all. I don’t think they look too morbid either. Anyway, its not like they will be hanging over our bed!

I messaged my sister Liz and asked her if this is what hers looked like, and she said hers are flattened and brownish instead of white, so I guess this is just the process.

I told the staff to just pick a neutral frame for me as I was not fussed and there were too many options and they selected this great white frame which is perfect.

I am glad I got them done, as if we have a daughter one day maybe she will want to see this stuff, then again, maybe she wont. I only have a few photos from my mum and dads wedding, a gold wedding band and my mum gave me her tulle/pearl head piece a few days before my own wedding, but that is all I have to remember their wedding day (and I was there!).

I remember on the morning of the wedding when I saw the flowers I was like “Okay, not what I asked for but oh well, too late now” and then I realized I would love them anyway since they were my wedding flowers!

In other news, I was walking around the tan last night and dropped my iPhone 4S.

 The screen is completely smashed and it cuts my fingers to use it.

 I’ve had lots of advice on whether to take it to Vodafone (I have insurance), directly to Apple or just to one of those little Asian phone stores who will fix it on the spot.

My friend who i was with said "Aren't you upset?!?! You have only had it a month!" but really, if a smashed iPhone screen is all I have to be upset about then who cares! It's just a phone, and can either be fixed or replaced. I think The Husband thought I was going to have a breakdown over it when I saw him when I was walking home and bumped into him walking to the gym, he was quick to reassure me we would have it fixed in no time.
