Late Nighter

Coming all the way from my iPhone, I bring you a drunk face photo. 

Went out on Saturday night with the standard offenders, Celeste and Vanessa to Loft to shake our groove thangs. I should learn by now that they are always running late (ahem, Celeste & Vanessa) so I started to drink Moscato on my own at home, and then I thought to myself, 'Hang on, am I an alcoholic now?! Isn't this what alcoholics do?! Drink on their own!?!' I calmed my self down by saying it was probably the second time in my life that I have ever drank on my own, ha. 

Since The Husband is away, I thought it was time for my green Kate Spade necklace to come out and play, since he is not it's biggest fan.

It was not my finest night so only this dark photo will be revealed.

I wore these to go and get the said moscato and wished that I could wear them out.  They are from K-Mart and are awesome.

I don't know what is wrong with my body here but something is seriously distorted.

I have a massive calf, my stomach is being weird and my boobs look ginormous. Hmmm. 

I started the day by wearing my new Essie - Knock Out Pout which dries relatively matte until a top coat it put over it, but decided to swap it out for OPI - Black Onyx & Rainbow Connection.

I did the 1000 steps with work for a social club function on Sunday morning was really paid for it later. Not to mention the fact that I got lost and ended up on the wrong side of the damn mountain, no wonder I couldn't find the carpark. Need a Melways. 

It was the Orthodox Easter and I dragged my sorry self out of bed and went to the nearby Orthodox Church to light a candle or three, and it was shut!! Seriously. 4PM. Come on. I thought churches never close...

Rewarded my hungover self with pizza. 

Took this selfie whilst chatting with The Husband. He said "Nice". Ahem, I want more than that thanks. 

Cannot wait for him to get home later this week, I need someone to keep me warm at night. 

Went to sleep with wet hair last night and woke up looking like a poodle who had been through the washing machine one too many times.

When my hair is curly it is too short to put in a pony tail so I just pin the back bit up and let the sides go relatively wild. 

Embrace the curls, I say.

I have a headache so that is this mundane post done with. 

My New HAIR!

Y'all can be proud of me. I didn't back out of my hair appointment! I started the day with two lattes, both with 3 sugars each which was perhaps not a smart move for someone who usually only drinks one coffee per month, and it is a weak one.

I was flat chat busy at work today and the coffee just made me highly irritable. After a quick Christmas lunch at work, I headed out shopping with el Husband.

We headed to Laurent for a sly 'calm my nerves' donut and apple juice before I slinked into Miss Fox, anxious and full of nerves.

Waiting for me in Miss Fox was this cute little Champagne, just the thing I needed to calm my nerves, especially after Luna came at me with the clippers and I freaked out!! It took Victoria and Luna trying to decipher what exactly it was that I wanted, and Erin being a hair model, for me to get my ass back in that seat.  I'm not going to sugar coat it, I was sweating.

Luna used the razor/clipper things to get a precise cut and we started off at about nipple length, then shoulder, then collar bone and then on to the final cut. We took it slow. Smart.

After reaching the perfect length and style, Luna put some texture into it with some layers, thinning and a little side fringe.

I thought that I would be crying, but I absolutely love my new hair do!!!

I feel so light and fresh. So fresh and soooo clean, ha.

When I stood up after my cut, my hair was stuck to my bum, all over my skirt. I guess because I was sweating at the start? I looked like I had Werewolf Bum.

Hunch Back. Sorry Mum.

When I got home I made The Husband close his eyes and then he was scared to open them! He appears to like it, but you never really know with men, do you? He did remark that I am like a completely different new wife, go him.

Now, how to maintain the luscious volume and smoothness? Keratin is next on the program.

P.S - I just used the tag 'good hair day' for the first ever time. Welcome to my life.

Thoughts on my new hair?? I feel like I look so youthful!! Maybe I will start to get carded again. One can only hope.

I'm cutting my hair.... and Freaking The Hell Out!!!

If you know me, or have read my blog for donkeys years you will know that I always bang on about want to cut my hair into a long bob. I’ve been saying this for years.

When I started dating S, he told me how much he loved my long hair and how feminine it was. Every few months I would say, I’m going to cut my hair off and he would put his foot down and demand that I kept it long.

3 weeks ago we were both in the bathroom getting ready and I said “I’m going to cut my hair” to which he looked at me, was silent for a moment and then said “Yeah, okay. Do it” so I made the appointment and now that it is tomorrow I am kind of freaking the phuck out.

I think that I tend to hide behind my hair, if that makes any sense. When I am nervous/sad/bored I tend to pick at it (probably why it is in such bad condition actually) to avoid having to look at people. This drives people insane I have found.

I have also realized that if I feel self conscious in an outfit, I use my hair to hide an open back or a revealing front to make myself feel more covered and it tends to help.

 

Just writing this post has left me feeling sick in my stomach. I haven’t had short hair since grade 6 I don’t think.

I’m hoping that if I take these photos to the salon, it will come out looking similar. If I want to wear it curly, I want it to look like these (one can only dream):

So what are your tips for not freaking out and having a melt down in the salon chair tomorrow?  I know that it is just hair and that it will grow back, but still!!!!

Make Up Trial - #Winner

I had another hair and make up trial tonight, this time with Miss Fox.

After staring long at hard at the photos of the other trial, I knew that I didn't want to look like that on the big day!!

From the moment I rang Miss Fox and spoke to Katie for 15mins on the phone to book my appointment, I knew that they would be perfect.

The salon is so beautiful, I have decided to have our hair and make up done there rather than our hotel room as it will look amazing in the video and photos!!

Now, for some pics.

I am SO happy with the results. I would not change a thing.

The beautiful Luna did both my hair and make up, in 2 hours. It took 3.5hours total with my other trial, and it was not that good.
My skin looks matte and flawless, just how I like it!

Luna worked with me to make sure I loved every bit of it, the only thing I had to say during the trial was that I needed more colour on my cheekbones and she rectified.

For quite a smoky eye, it is not that BAM in your face when I close my eyes, thank goodness.

She also did really well to conceal the bags under my eyes and my acne scars.

This reminds me of LiLo's MUG SHOT!!!

I had my eyebrows done a month back after not waxing for 10 months whilst on roaccutane, but need to get them done every 3 weeks so that they are perfect for the day, and not like these hairy caterpillars. Ignore the brows puh-lease.

Luna suggests that I go in to the salon on the Friday to have my hair washed, rather than washing it on the day so that it looks less 'fluffy'.

I dead set can not recommend the lovely ladies at Miss Fox more. I rate them 100/10.

The salon is stunning, the staff are so delightful and attentive, not to mention friendly beyond the call of duty.

I'm going back on Saturday to meet with the skin therapist, and have already booked in to have my nails done with Shellac polish 2 days before the wedding.

Hair is stressful.

I stumbled across these images by Miss Fox Salon in Melbourne, and the hair is perfection.

eta - I now have a hair and make up trial with Miss Fox on Wednesday night. This works out well as it is also our 4 year anniversary, so I can look good for a nice dinner! Will let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed please.

I'm going to ring them tomorrow but am trying to not get my hopes up as we are only 62 days out and most places are probably already booked.
