Designer Soles - Review

A couple of months back I was contacted by Secret Solini - Designer Soles and was sent out a box containing their red soles product.

My first thought? Okay, way to rip off Christian Louboutin.

If I am going to do a product a review, I tell the truth and am not at all influenced by the company.

The Secret Solini Designer Soles are basically a sticky contact paper type of product, which is applied to the sole and heel of your shoes to add color or pattern.

The product comes with 3 x stickers, 1 x blade for cutting said stickers and also a sterilized towelette to clean your shoes before applying the product.

I instantly had flashbacks of applying contact to my school folders in high school. What a disaster that was.

I decided to use my black Windsor Smith patent black heels to apply and test out the product.

I wiped the soles and heel with the alcohol wipe (noting that there was only one wipe, yet enough stickers to do 3 pairs of shoes).

I was unable to take photos as I used the blade, as I needed both hands.

One hand to apply and smooth out the sticker, and the other to trim it along the base line.
I don't know if I am just relatively unco, but I found it difficult to achieve a perfect cut line.

It took a few times of re-applying to smooth out bubbles that were created under the sticker which lead to me getting frustrated and sighing a lot.

Like I said, they instantly made me think of fake Christian Louboutins.
I do not approve of blatant fakes, of any item.

I remember when Peepshow Shoes used to have a red sole and then a lawsuit had them change to purple soles.

I was thinking that perhaps they could be perfect to re-sole my Louboutin's, rather than using a Vibram sole but I have changed my mind.

The red is not the exact same, but close enough that nobody would notice the difference.

I must say, it is a clever idea for a product, and I do like the other colors and patterns, just not the red.

The pink polka dot are my favorite, and the baby blue sole would be perfect for a bride on her wedding day! A great way to include 'Something Blue' without it being too obvious under your dress.

You can purchase the Secret Solini - Designer Soles on their website, here, for $14.99 for one pair and $29.99 for three.

What are your thoughts on the Designer Sole product? Genius or Too Much Effort?

Pink Thursday

There is a lot of pink in this post. Quite unintentionally too.
Hope y’all are fond of pink!!

To start the pink parade I will start with the new Missoni umbrellas that I snapped up from OzSale today (and whoever the heck it was that introduced me to OzSale, why did you do this??) for a fresh bargain. Prices started at $70 I think.

The Husband doesn’t have an umbrella so I’ll keep the green one in the car, incase he needs it I suppose but there is a good chance I will never see it again.

This Kevin Murphy Powder Puff stuff is meant to be awesome. I’m due to wash my hair tonight, (after all, dry shampoo & a headband can only go so far) so will try it out and get back to you! If it is awesome, I will do a video of me using it. Would that be a good idea? I don’t know about this video stuff. I don’t like the sound of my own voice.

Apparently all the cool people use it and I had no idea. Can I join the cool club now?

The mind is a powerful little feature in a human body.  Earlier this week, these cupcakes were baked by a partners wife and brought to work to share. Kitty left a note next to them saying they were Salmon Cupcakes, and me hating salmon was not sure about it. I ate one and low and behold it tasted like salmon.

Well guess what, they weren’t Salmon Cupcakes at all.
Just regular cupcakes with salmon colored icing. I promise you, I could taste the salmon. I ate 2 more, and I could still taste the salmon. Ergh.

They also matched my nails perfectly! OPI Princesses Rule with OPI Teenage Dream over the top.

If you ‘like’ the Domestic Divinity facebook page, you will already know that yesterday I sighted a gorgeous young woman wearing a tan impeccably tailored trench coat, black patent Christian Louboutins, a nice pencil dress, smart pantyhose, hair in a great bun and flawless make up. She was crossing the road, pulling a small suitcase and I looked at her and was struck with a pang of ‘why don’t I ever look neat and put together?!?!’.

I think some women just have it. I don’t, and for this, I blame you MUM. Thanks a lot. Why didn’t I get these fancy genes?

How about you? Can you wear white and not get it dirty? Stay creaseless all day?

I used the China Glaze Shocking Pink (neon) again. Grrr. Why didn’t I consult my old blog post about it before this? It’s a matte mess before putting top coat on and it chipped within hours. Not cool dude.

Matches my highlighter perfectly though.

I’ve been embracing wearing jewelry and accessories more often so it is time for my Aquamarine & Diamond ring to see more day light. I kind of think that it is too big to wear all the time, but it’s too pretty to live in a jewelry box too.

How amazing are these?!? I don’t know if they are real, I found them online randomly and have been drooling over them ever since.

Hot damn. Who doesn't want some glittery Louboutins with a bow on them?

Same Same!

Same Same but Different!!!

How happy does my mum look here!!

Sold!

I love this photo!!

Whats the point of uploading pics if I have to block S's face, right?!

Well, NFL season is back. I have already lost my husband to the TV.

Might as well kill time by flooding y'all with pics.

If S had a blog, this picture would be perfect as I am already blocking my face!!

The band accidentally unplugged our song, so we started dancing at the wrong point, and then half way through S decided he had had enough dancing and cut our dance short!!!

Ohhh yeah!!!

I had these puppies on from 11am - 1am. They started to hurt around midnight, so they did exceptionally well!!

Instagram Shizz

The wedding is taking over my life. I am so over it, I just want it over and done with. I never want to see flowers, tulle, mints or seating plans – ever again.

Of course, I am really excited for it, but am still over all the planning. It’s taken its toll on me. I have a wrinkle. Well, it’s more of a fine line – but it is still there!!

I had a bridezilla moment yesterday when S cracked a joke about planning his get away car to leave me at the alter. I told him that in no circumstances did I want to hear that joke again, it’s too close to the wedding and I am overly sensitive about anything wedding related. The poor kid looked wide eyed and shocked. I usually laugh at his jokes, not storm off and throw a tantrum.

He took me out to breakfast at The European to make me happy again, but the toast was too freaking hard, I couldn’t cut it with the knife provided, so S hacked through it, and then it cut the roof of my mouth. Gah.

Anyway, here are some recent Instagram photos for your enjoyment.

I bought this cute Alannah Hill belt to spruce up my wardrobe.

How cute is my dress, it's from Target!

Me in year 7. Bad teeth & short hair.

Thomas after a fall. Liz is trying to keep him from damaging his face this week.

A new arm chair at Dads. It's an improvement on the other rock hard sofas.

I’ve been wearing my shoes around, to dancing mainly, and making sure they are comfortable for the day. I’ve had lots of comments on them.

They snagged the bottom of my wedding dress at my fitting, and we didn’t know what to do. I made it clear that the shoes are non negotiable.

I want this hatinator. I have no plans to go to the races this year though.

5 Days To Go.

Recent Instagram Pics

Here are some of the past weeks Instagram photos.

OPI Rumples Wiggin'. Nice and smudged.
The Ferris Wheel in Melbourne

My Googly Eyes Sign that I stuck on my own desk, rather than creeping others out.

Me with said Googly Eyes

Lucky Brand Boots

Mimco Limited Edition Necklace, 1 of 50. $450.

I nearly bought this on the weekend for my bridal Statement necklace but realised it is just too much going on. It is actually 2 necklaces, and a bracelet which can all be seperated. If I was not trying to be budget concious then I would have bought it just for fun. It's gorgeous.

I still have not worn these Christian Louboutins out!

Must wear them.
