I'm not a Beauty Blogger. I don’t wear much make up on a daily basis either so was surprised when I was invited to The Body Shops blogger launch of their Christmas Range.
I do admit that it has been a long time since I stepped foot in The Body Shop.
I remember the days where I would lather on my Body Butter, use the pots of lip balms and I always had a steady stream of their black head remover stick things before I decided to stop picking at my trouble skin.
I have always liked body butters and scented moisturisers as I don’t wear perfume often so find this to be a good compromise.
I headed to The Body Shop on Bourke Street, palms sweating as I am quite the awkward human and don’t know how to talk to strangers but the girls from 360 Immerse made me feel very welcome and I didn't have to be the pregnant girl hanging out by the food table on my own so that was a plus.
Unfortunately I could only stay for half an hour though as I had to go to the airport.
Cupcakes. Yum.
I was taken around and shown all the new range and great Christmas gift packs and have taken photos of my favorite choices, purely based on their kitsch cuteness.
I don't know why, but my dad and I both love tins. I think it runs in the family.
Perfect for the girl that loves pink says I.
Heart Strawberry Tin $29.95
I'm dead at the cuteness of these wash balls and sponges.
Reindeer, Pudding - gah so cute. I don't use a loofah/sponge thing but would totally hang this on my Christmas Tree but I am weird like that.
Reindeer Wash Ball & Sponge Pudding $7.95 each
Strawberry Sundae Cone Gift $26.95
All of these gift packs do double duty so far, come with cute packaging and body products.
Food! I may have loitered by the food table taking photos but did not indulge as I knew I had spaghetti bolognese waiting for me when I got back from the airport.
I regret this foolish decision now that I look back at the photos. What was I thinking?
We got to watch a make up demonstration, where Alix was the guinea pig.
The products applied went on beautifully.
It is about now that I look at my phone and realise "Shit, I am going to be so late and a flight is going to be missed" and I had to high tail it out of there in the middle of a demonstration.
We were given seriously generous gift bags so that we could try a selection of products and this is what was in the gift bags (RRP included for the sake of informational purposes):-
Ginger Sparkle Body Polish 200ml $20.95
Nom. This smells awesome. Lots of cinnamon. Beware, people may nosh on your arm.
Ginger Sparkle Body Butter 200ml $27.95
Cranberry Joy Body Butter 200ml $27.95
I'm not a fan of the scent of Cranberry. I don't know if I have even ever smelt cranberry before but there you go. It may be my delicate nostrils which are like those of a hound dog so this was my least favourite scent unfortunately.
Cranberry Joy Body Polish 200ml $20.95
Vanilla Bliss Body Butter 200ml $27.95
Vanilla is always a winner. You really cannot go wrong.
Eye Palette x 2 in 'Copper' and 'Moonstone' $44.95 each
These are fantastic, they include everything you may need for a smoky eye (including step by step instructions for silly people like me). The colour range is really lovely and I like the pigment. (Do I sound professional yet?).
The Sparkler - Dazzling Copper and Enchanting Gold $48.95 each
I have not tried this out yet but when tested on Alix it was subtle and quite lovely, not at all what I was expecting - which was a glitter explosion.
These will look beautiful on any vanity.
I think I will wear this in the place of where my collar bones used to be...
Slanted Kabuki Brush $39.95
This is a synthetic brush and it feels really lovely on my skin.
I'm looking forward to giving it a crack with my powder. You can never have too many brushes.
These two products come in a cute Tutti Fruity Bon Bon $12.95 pack but I accidently ripped the packaging in my haste to play with the products.
Take my word for it.
These smell lovely, I have a real soft spot for Body Milk.
Colourglide Shine in Ruby Sparkle $24.95
I didn't swatch the Coral but it is in one of the photos above.
I swatched Ruby Sparkle last night at the event on the back of my hand, it has a lovely sheen and a slight shimmer to it. It reminded me of the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine range in the fact that it has a shimmer and glided on smoothly but has a much better coverage and staying power than the Coco Shine.
Book of Coconut $49.95
Not only does this pack come with products but it also comes with a recipe on the inside of the box! Double whammy I tell you.
You all know I love coconut products after my shopping spree on Pure Fiji. I wear coconut lotion every day and people always tell me I smell like vanilla or chocolate. I guess I smell like a Bounty Bar.
Since there were so many products in the gift bag I have shared them with my mum and my sister!
I wore this casual Target summer dress with a white belt under the bust (that's a new thing for me - not) and my Witchery Sandals.
Don't worry about my hair, I can assure you that it was as flat as a tack for some unfortunate reason.
I think that a lot of these products would make fantastic Kris Kringle gifts for the women in your lives because they are well priced, good products and cute to boot. I am the ringmaster of the KK at work so if anyone asks me for suggestions I will flick them to the Body Shop website.
So - tell me, do you like Christmas themed products? Have you recently shopped at The Body Shop?
I think I will be revisiting The Body Shop now after dismissing it for so many years. Who would have thought.
