Bebe Frocks

Yesterday was so disgustingly hot, and hearing people at my tram stop complain about it made it far worse. I swear that the temperature went up every time the girl next to me said "Can you BELIEVE it is 40 degrees?!!!?!!"

When I finally got off the tram I knew that I couldn't make it home without a breath of fresh air on the back of my neck so I waddled (no joke, chafing galore over here) into Target to buy a new bucket so that I could mop the floors at home (said bucket then became my icey cold foot bath that night) and to kill time I headed to the childrens wear department.
A part from looking at the Collette Dinnigan for The Australian Ballet stock I had never looked at Targets childrens wear but holy moly they had some cute stuff.

I ummed and ahhed over this dress but am so glad that I got it as it fast became my favourite purchase of the night.

I cant find it online but I know that it was under $25 with the matching bloomers, and they had 20% off childrens wear so that was a win.

I got all of these dresses in 12 months up I am pretty sure.

I plan on being matchy matchy with my daughter.
I figure that I can dress her up in cute dresses for family dinners, birthdays, church and the like until she is old enough to work out her own style and undoubtedly refuse to wear them.

I refused to wear anything but track suit pants after a certain age because the fabric was nice on my skin, according to my mum. Don't worry though, there were lots of frilly dresses to go around.

Same goes for this dress, cant find online but was under $20 and also came with matching bloomers with a ruffle butt which I didn’t take a photo of.

I was waving them around singing “Ruffle Butt, Ruffle Butt” and The Husband just watched on in slight amusement.

This is the Barberry party dress, and far cuter in real life than online. I wouldn’t even have looked at it twice online actually.
$18 is a steal I tell you.
I was so impressed with the quality of the kids clothes, definitely better than ladies wear if you ask me.

Navy Spot Party Dress - $18

The fabric on this isn’t a light cotton like the others, but it seems breathable and time will tell I suppose.

I see lots of frilly socks and mary janes in the little tackers future.

I saw some incredibly adorable sailor type outfits for boys which I was dying over also.

Paris With Love Dress $18.40

I didn’t see this in store, only online, but I have put two sizes on hold so that I can check them out tomorrow and see if I like them.
I cant help this addiction guys. At least I have stopped buying baby wear!!

Even The Husband got a kick out of looking at these when he got home and said that our steamer will be perfect for them, as he doesn't trust me with the iron - for good reason.

I think he quite fancys the idea of a little girl in a frilly dress haha. I just know she is going to be the carbon copy of him though, so she will need all the help in the Girly department that she can get!

Kikki.K, iBaby, Dougnuts, Mad Mex.

Look, I cannot remember when this photo was taken but it must have been a while back because:-

a) I am not the size of a whale
b) My rings still fit
c) My jacket still fits
d) My nails are painted

None of this has happened for awhile now.  That stain on the bust part of the dress is still there though, don't you worry.

Have you ever wondered what happens if you don't check your mail box for over a month? Wonder no more my pretties, wonder no more.

You get a lot of bills, reminder letters and overdue penalties.

I need to confiscate the letter box key from The Husband.

I took it upon myself to take charge of the bills as he seems to lose them a lot, and went to Kikki K and picked up this bad boy because I like cute folders and they make mundane jobs like bill paying more fun.

I also got this adorable baby book as at the moment I just write things in my 2012 diary but when I turf that I do not want to lose the dates of the scans, first kicks etc.

I was served by lovely blog reader, Kate, and I couldn't help but think 'why doesn't anybody ever recognise me when I look nice!?' I swear I was practically sweating and my hair was a frizzy mess.

These macarons are from The Cupcake Family in QV and were damn fine.
Two for me, two for mum and two for Grant who we were visiting in hospital that day.

I headed to the park on Sunday armed with my new John Grisham book which was bound to be just like every single other book of his about law that he ever wrote to leave me in anticipation of what would happen next.

I swear, they are all so repetitive but I cannot get enough of them.

When you walk past Mad Mex every day, it is sometimes hard to avoid temptation.

All it takes is for me to tell The Husband that our daughter feels like Mexican and we are in that door, sucker.

I order the two soft tacos but usually take them home with me to eat in my personal privacy, away from judging eyes as I make such a mess but yesterday we ate them in store and what a laugh that was.

I feel like the staff over fill them to the extent that they do purely so that they can laugh at me trying to fit it in my mouth.

Would you look at that, a lime!

The aftermath. Not as pretty as the before shot that is for starters. What a mess.

Soon you will no longer see the third part of our marriage in my photos as The Husband is going to make the switch to the iPhone purely so that we can use the iBaby monitor and he can log in and say HI to the baby when he is at work or on work trips.

Maybe sometimes I will bring the monitor out into the living area, make sure that the camera is not facing our chaos which is bound to be there, and let him watch us play haha.

The poor little tacker will have the normal monitor and this one trained on her, like a performing monkey.

At this stage it looks as if The Husband may have to go overseas for a brief work trip not long after the baby pops out, and I am invited but I think it will be far too difficult to go so will just stay home and have my mum stay over, but it really sucks!

How good are hot jam doughnuts.

If you do not like hot jam doughnuts, please leave a comment stating this and your reason as I am yet to meet someone who does not like them.

White Furniture

It has come to my attention that I really do have a strange love of white furniture.

Not all white furniture though, I don't have much love for the glossy variety.

I don't think we had too much white furniture growing up, but my bedroom furniture was definitely white, white wicker at that! So here is my love for white furniture, waving a little white flag and declaring awesomeness.

I have been searching furniture websites like there is tomorrow. I have determined that I have rather neutral and simple tastes and that what is in my head does not always exist in real life.

The Husband may have given me the side eye when I announced that the majority of my favourite furniture is actually from Ikea.  I don’t think he likes the sounds of this, but if we cant find it elsewhere why wouldn't we go to Ikea? Cheap and cheerful I say.I haven't had a piece break on me yet.

Little kids are just going to draw on it anyway if I remember my own childhood.

Maybe he knows that I am the Master Builder in our marriage and will be out of action so he may need to build, but Ikea have people who can build it for you!

Now - here are some pieces on my 'I like and if I don't find else where in better quality will buy' list:-

I think that a coffee table will be one of our last purchases though as our couch is already on the huge side, and our lounge is not.  We will see if we can ever fit one in otherwise will have to get side tables instead.

I like the idea of this one though as you can put pretty coffee table books in the drawer and look at them through the glass rather than on top of the glass.

I want a glass cabinet of some type to house our special objects such as the ‘good’ dining setting, cutlery, wine glasses, tea cups etc etc – you get the drill.

I think I really need to see them in real life though to determine the quality.  Freedom have one that I adore but I hate the colour wash of it.

I would like to put some different handles on these also. If you have seen these elsewhere, please drop me a comment!!

We are going to need more storage in the laundry too, I adore these being used for a linen cupboard and like to think that it force me to have a neat area but who am I kidding. I only use fitted sheets and cannot fold them nicely for the life of me.

Am unsure about getting a sideboard or TV unit, I think that we will have our TV mounted on the wall but I guess you need to put your DVD player and DVD's etc somewhere.

That's one I need to ponder further I suppose...

I don't need these chairs because we have a dining setting already but I think I may buy 2 just to have randomly as I adore them. Maybe if we put a study desk in then they would work.
Ikea Ingolf Chair

I do however need stools for the bench and these are the cutest I have seen. Will of course need little cushions on them but so be it.

Look how cute they look!

Our bedroom has a walk in wardrobe but The Husband has graciously offered to let me have it and he will use a separate one which we need to buy. I think that both our clothes can fit in the walk in as I am culling a lot but he clearly thinks my clothes are contagious and if he rubs his lovely stuff against mine it may turn polyester.

As he has so many shirts we need the wardrobe to have two rails, but if we don't get an Ikea one we may look at having a custom one built which will probably work out better as can have a section for his ties and what not but I have no idea how much such a thing would cost.

Life with so many clothes must be exhausting.

I love the idea of a big mirror leaning against the wall but I don't think it is that safe - so maybe we will have one hanging and fixed to the wall properly.

For some reason I am so incredibly excited about decorating the fire place mantle.

I want a big mirror above it, and have already selected some silver Vera Wang frames (gifts from our wedding) and candle sticks to go on it.

We need to decide which photos to put in the frames, but I am thinking family shots from our wedding would be nice.

Now, the house is quite old and doesn't have much storage in the bathroom so I was thinking I would either get a ladder shelf or the Hemnes shelves and put nice baskets on them so that we can have towels, products etc nicely presented.

I will need to measure the space that is left to decide on this though.

I really do love the look of these shelves actually. Plain and neutral.
I am all for rolling my towels as opposed to folding them - how about you?

We are yet to see an outdoor setting that we love and white will be a pain to keep clean so we are still looking.
Am hoping to find this and buy our white goods in the Boxing Day Sales!

I think I love white furniture because you are not limited the the colours in your art work, rugs, flowers, cushions and all that other random stuff that accumulates around a house.

So - what are your favourite furniture stores? I do admit that if I cannot see it on the website first, I usually cannot be bothered schlepping to the shops - especially with my belly weighing me down now.

Love Me Do

Has anyone checked out the Collette Dinnigan For The Australian Ballet range at Target for girls? I popped by on the weekend to have a look at the quality but the only things that I liked were the ‘Bounce Skirt’ tutus but they were sold out in most smaller sizes.

I just ordered one in a size 5 purely to be used as decoration as I am sure it wont be in good condition by the time she is 5 years old and I have a feeling she will be a tom boy anyway.

People are still scaring me with their tales of how someone they knew was expecting a girl but a boy popped out, so time will tell!!

I ordered mine online as the store only had a 5 in the blue and I prefer the Antique Rose colour.

You can see the range by clicking here.

We had a busy weekend, including going to Geelong and also seeing my rather cute nephews in all their blonde glory.

How can you not love these faces?

I had been umming and ahhing about ordering this Marc byMarc Jacobs nappy bag for awhile now.

Merowyn ordered it and proclaimed her love for it and did the right thing and peer pressured me into ordering it but I kept going back and forth because it is rather expensive.

Then, I came across the shopbop Big Event sale and snapped it up with a discount of 20%. Hurrah.
I am not a huge handbag girl but wanted something that didn't look like a standard nappy bag as I have not seen one that I liked up until now.
I figure if I am going to carry it every day for a long time and fill it with dirty kids stuff, I at least want it to be cute.  I will take the luggage tag off though.

The tiered sale is still on but ends today so get clicking kids.

I recently found a stack of tops and blouses, folded neatly and pushed to the back of my drawers which I just assumed had gone missing for good.  Why didn't I think to check in the most normal and obvious place in the start?

This outfit is a comfortable and hopefully on the slimming side.

People think it is okay to comment on a pregnant woman’s weight, but let me tell you – this is the fastest way to get in their bad books.
Saying things like “I have a new nickname for you, Tubby!” or “You are a teapot – short and stout” will not end well for that person.

I have put on a lot of weight according the scales (and my reflection in the mirror) but if my obstetrician isn't concerned then that is good enough for me.

24 Week Baby Belly

Skirt – Metalicus
Top – Big W
Necklace – Purchased in Bali

I am still occasionally wearing heels, but only in the office when walking around, otherwise I am barefoot or in thongs.

Barefoot and pregnant indeed. Especially now that my rings are no longer comfortable to wear.

In other news, I am currently green with envy over the fact that my brother Lucas (who is currently on a short break from his deployment in Afghanistan) is in Ireland visiting my sister Cat.

Cat and Mike flew my mum over to Ireland in order to surprise my brother.
I wish, wish, wish that I was there too. It's not often we are all in the same country at the same time.

Check out that beard. I may not have recognised him if I was there ha.
