The Atlantic

A few weeks back (remember when I did my post with my umbrella, cursing the rain to hell?) I went to The Atlantic at Crown Casino with Lara.

I had heard pretty bad reviews about the service, but from the moment I got there, the service was fantastic.

I was escorted to my table, where Lara had been waiting for me for 20 minutes - cocktail in hand, my chair was pulled out, my napkin was placed on my lap, there was an offer to take my cape and hang it, and all was said with a smile. The service was brilliant, if I do say so myself.

I usually avoid anything that has eyeballs staring at me.

 At the waiters suggestion, I had something from the 'Special of the Day' menu - The Spanner Crab Risotto.

I'm not sure how much it was, but it was delicious. Surprisingly a large serving - not that this is obvious in the photo. 'twas delicious!

I did also order Trice Cooked Russet Potatoes, but they did not come. They were not on the bill either, so no point complaining. It didn't matter as I would not have been able to fit them in anyway.

The restaurant looks fantastic - I really loved the layout. It was pretty dark in there though, but it all makes for the atmosphere doesn't it? The service was great, as was the food - tres delicious!.

I am not sure what all of the bad reviews that I have heard are all about?!

I'd like to take The Husband back, as Lara said the steak is great, so I know he would enjoy it.
