To MoVida Aqui We Go.

Even though we live so close to so many awesome restaurants, we find ourselves eating at the same ol' places over and over again.

I would rather choose eating at Schnitz than going to a fancy restaurant to be honest.
Speaking of Schnitz, I sent The Husband to get me a wrap on the weekend and after he ordered my request the lady told him that he had my order wrong.  Obviously I go there so often that she recognized him and knew he got my order wrong.  My kind of woman!

Anyway, back to eating out.

My idea of the perfect dinner date meal would be Fish n Chips. That is all.
Living in the city we don't have any normal Fish n Chip shops, they are all gourmet. It sucks.

We headed to MoVida Aqui tonight, having called yesterday and were told that we could get a table at the original MoVida but only at 6PM which was too early for us, so MoVida Aqui it was.

Pacos Tacos was closed when we got up there, I was ready for a pre-dinner taco too.

Most of my photos are really dark with a slight blur to them.

I can't bring myself to turn the flash on and risk people looking at me funnily, and I need to take photos fast when the food arrives otherwise The Husband gets impatient and might start a riot.

Complimentary bread with salt and olive oil.

I prefer a dash of balsamic in my olive oil if eating with bread.
I just don't get the salt and olive oil thing at all.

The Husband was brave and tried the Smoke Eel tapas but I can't find it on the website and it wasn't on the specials menu either so I am left floundering.

The Husband says "It was good". He is also nodding.

Bocadillo De Calamares $7 each
Calamari Sandwich with Basque Guindilla and Mayonnaise

Damn these were good.
Next time I will order two each.

Definitely my favorite meal of the night, no challenge.

Mejillones $21.50
Jumbo Mussels cooked with Fino, Lemon and Parsley

These were pretty good, but I usually only eat steamed mussels with a very simple vinaigrette that my mum makes so this was going out on a limb for me.

What can I say, I told you that I have simple taste buds.

Gambas En Sal $18.50 - From the specials menu
Whole South Australian Prawns baked in Salt

Once I managed to peel these bad boys, as the prawn meat was so tender that it was flaking off every time I tried to peel it, I popped one in my mouth and was instantly overwhelmed by the salt.

I ate my next one with the dipping sauce and lemon and it was perfection. No complaints here.

Bomba $4.80 each
Catalan Potato Bomb filled with Chorizo

Oh yeah these bad boys hit the spot. I do like them. I don't love chorizo, but I do love potato and anything with potato is fine by me.

The Husband sighing at me and my ever present camera.
Don't worry though, I do put it away as soon as I have snapped the photo.

Carrillera De Buey $22.50
Slowly Braised Beef Cheek in Pedro Ximenez on Cauliflower Puree

This was just for The Husband but I snuck a bite and damn that meat was tender. We actually couldn't work out what the puree was at the time of eating, but now that I know it was Cauliflower I feel like I can sleep better at night.

I asked The Husband for a quote on this and he says:
"I give it 9/10. It only lost a point because I had to eat it whilst looking at your mug.".
Ha. What a freaking comedian he is. Right. Somebody is sleeping on the couch, and it aint me.

I started thinking that we hadn't ordered enough and that I was still hungry but it hit my stomach and I knew that dessert would be a challenge.

Churros Con Chocolate $12.50
Spanish Doughnuts with Rich Drinking Chocolate

Mmmm churros. Always so good, no matter where you get them, but these were exceptional.

I'm not really into the dipping chocolate though to be honest. Just like I don't like fondue chocolate.
The Husband ate the chocolate with a spoon.

I chose to wear a nice stretchy dress, perfect for eating.

I got this dress from Review about a month back, on sale for $60 so no complaints over here.

If I just blow dry my hair, without styling it and can manage to put up with lank hair for a day or two it starts to curl up at the ends, giving me this result which I love!

Anyhoo, I have a full belly and it's bed time!

Have you been to MoVida Aqui? Is it as good as MoVida and MoVida Next Door? I haven't been to either so cannot compare.

Boring or not...

To start this post, for all the anonymous comments lately about how my blog is too boring for you now, I have a really good idea - so listen up and perhaps jot this down in case you forget it..

Stop reading.

If I open a blog and think it is boring, I close the page and don't go back. Easy!!

I don't write my blog to entertain anyone else, to benefit from freebies or anything else and I was blogging before anyone was reading, and I will continue to blog about my so called boring life, whether anyone is reading or not.

So how about instead of you taking the time to read (adding to my blog hits - thanks!!), signing in as anonymous and complaining, just close the web page and don't come back.
I don't think I will miss you.

I don't delete negative comments because everyone has the right to an opinion, but I don't need any negativity in my life at the moment so I may just start to do that.

So in short, if you think my blog is boring, it isn't likely to get any more entertaining for you soon.

Kitty and I usually go shopping on a Friday after work but we end up so drained if we don't stop for a snack which leads me to the brilliance of Brunettis in Myer.

They usually have fantastic pizza slices but were out on Friday night so we headed to the David Jones Food Hall.

I've only ever been there for lollies before, never for a meal but it was delicious!

I got The Husband these jelly bellies, surprisingly there are still some left but mostly the black and darker colors which neither of us are game enough to sample.

This is the pumpkin and caramelized onion pizza that I ate, which was so good that I got another serving.

After our bellies were full and the heavens offered up a down pour, we were done.

Still enjoying dumplings, don't you worry about that.

I've been trying to teach The Husband the correct art of butter to vegemite ratio, but he just doesn't seem to be willing.

I like the butter to melt before I even put the vegemite on. He slathers it all on at once so the butter is thick and not melting. Men.

I went out with the girls last night to Blue Corn in St Kilda and we followed it with cocktails at Nobu and Magic Mike at the movies.

I had never been to Nobu before but it looked really nice!

My White Chocolate Martini.

The white chocolate got stuck on the back of my throat and drove me nuts.

The cinema doesn't do a slurpee as good as 7/11 but at least they give it a crack.

Magic Mike.

Hot damn.

I love Channing Tatum.

Have you seen it? Less talking, more stripping was the general consensus from those in the theater.

Take 5 and Energize - Portable Facial Skin Rejuvenator

As promised, a better post on my new Take 5 & Energize Portable Facial Skin Rejuvenator!

As you know, I'll give anything a crack if I think it will improve my skin or appearance! If it works, I'm a slave to it.

Barbara, whom that adorable niece of mine - Ashleigh-Rose belongs to (haha) has a company Take 5 & Energize, which I may have blogged about before, and when she recently got these into stock, I was more than willing to trial one!!

I have been using mine daily for about a month now, and so far so very good!

They have different strength settings for different age groups, and of course I cling to my youth and revel in the fact that I am under 25.

It has 4 different treatment options/directions:

1. Cleansing (ions + infrared ray + micro vibration massage)
2. Massage (ions + infrared ray + micro vibration massage)
3. Nutrient (ions + infrared ray + micro vibration massage)
4. Lifting (ions + infrared ray)

Don't mind me.

I am so taken by the feeling of the ions, but I have no idea how to describe it.
Almost a prickly sensation.

When I held it to The Husbands face, he couldn't feel it and we discovered that you need to have your own hands on the metal plates for the ions to travel!! Genius.  You can tell I flunked science.

Each treatment option takes 4 minutes, and then moves to the next one.

I use it whilst watching TV, I like to fancy the thought of multi tasking.

Not much bigger than The Husbands grubby blackberry. When will he switch to iPhone?

Stock information so I don't have to type it out:-

 How cute is this!?

Fresh and Clean
When you use the The Portable Facial Skin Rejuvenator  you will feel the transfering of negative ions to your stressed skin, to help your skin appear lighter, purer, more beautiful.
Infrared Light Therapy
The Portable Facial Skin Rejuvenator's infrared LEDs emit deep heat radiation that can penetrate below the surface of the skin. A slight warmth is a tender treat for the skin, helping to fight the signs of aging and promote skin's recovery from damage.
Ionizing Option
The ionizing function of this Portable Facial Skin Rejuvenator  employs safe, gentle electronics for ion production. Enahnce a massage that brightens, softens, helps fight bacteria and helps absorption of beauty products.
Vibration Massager
Integral 3-level vibrating mode. Massages deep skin layers and supporting muscles as well as the lymph system of face and body, for a more youthful, tonic and elastic skin appearance. Helps tighten pores.

The Massager is suitable for problems of dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin and aged skin. At first, daily treatment is recommended for normal, dry and aged skin, every 3-4 days for sensitive and oily skin. After the first month, treatments once or twice weekly are recommended. For seriously sensitive skin, use only once a week.

The Portable Facial Skin Rejuvenator should be used with continuous movements, without lingering over the sensitive eye contour. Movements are from inner to outer areas of face, from lower face upwards, until pre-programmed time stops automatically. You may use circular motions if desired.

I have definitely seen an improvement in the texture of my skin (not pimples so much though but lets be honest, Roaccutane could not cure me) and the firmness around my chin and jaw is looking more taut, which I usually think is a tad wobbly.

The Husband has perfect skin, not a blemish or wrinkle in sight, damn him, and has been using it also and has said that his skin has been "looking very fresh" lately.

Barbara is also giving one of these bad boys away! All you need to do is 'like' her Facebook page by clicking HERE!

They retail for $179.95 and you can buy them on the website, here!

Do you have something similar to this handy device?

This is not a sponsored post!

Mumbo Jumbo

This, my friends, is a good lunch.

Whole grain toast with avocado and salt (mildly devastated that I had no lemon though) accompanied by English muffins with baked beans.

Anything in a tomato based sauce or similar gives me reflux though, so I am slightly struggling right now, but that is the consequence of good taste.

For example, my brother Lucas is allergic to shell fish – but he will still eat them on occasion and deal with the itchy and swollen throat and lips later. What a sucker.

Malted milk is also my friend!! It has been a good 10 years since I even thought about Malted Milk but I am now addicted again.

I have 4 spoonfuls per mug of milk.

My mum was telling me that when she was younger, her and her eight siblings would eat Milo straight from the jar, no milk involved.  I cannot fathom doing this! Imagine if you tried to talk and a cloud of milo spread all over the shop.

Then again, some normal people cant fathom eating peanut butter or nutella straight out of the jar with a spoon, but this is practically my favorite past time!

I took this photo whilst in Newcastle, Kitty was snoozing next to me on her single bed, and it dawned on me that there was a fine mist of sand all over the room. Not ideal fresh out of a shower, believe me.

As you can see, we always travel with Nail Polish!

Whilst wasting time in Sydney airport for 8 hours I set out on a mission to find an omelet and had the chef from Danks Street Depo whip me up one full of veggies, as they didn’t offer one on the menu and had a slight grumble about paying $40 for two omelets before I realized how amazing they were!

This is my reading material for the week.

Based on the current circumstances of just farewelling my brother as he was deployed, probably not ideal but hey, its no secret what goes on over there.

Maybe I just wont give the books to my mum, don’t want to terrorize her too much.

I also have a blog post coming up tomorrow or Friday on this awesome contraption but thought I might as well introduce you now!

This is the portable facial skin rejuvenator from Take 5 and Energize which works through negative ions, vibration and infrared – all that coolness. Anyway, more to come in the next 2 days!

Take 5 and Energize are also giving one away on their Facebook in the next 5 days!

The temperature in our office is rather unpredictable at the best of times.
People always come in and remark “Aren’t you freezing?” if I have a short sleeved dress on. No, I’m not because I sit under a gazillion down lights which heat me right up.

Lately, it’s been on the chillier side of life and I have been embracing looking like a granny.

Sometimes, it just has to be done.
