maoko: Hearts & Stuff

Friday night I had to go back to Southland to take in my receipt for the refund of my ring, and whilst there I could not help but potter around and generally waste time.

I ended up in a chemist looking at the Nicole by OPI (by the way, who is Nicole?) range and was quite enamored by the ‘Have a Heart’ bottle with its promises of cute little hearts on my nails. Well, what a frigging let down.

It seriously took me half an hour just to get these stupid little hearts on the brush, one by one, and then the clear polish comes out all gluggy and you can’t move the hearts around the nail properly. Not worth my time.

As you can see by my nail shot below, I actually tipped my top coat on to my nail in a big wave as when trying to paint over the top, it made the hearts move and smear my nail polish underneath. Massive pain in the ass.

The Husband went to Geelong for the weekend to see his parents and I spent my Friday evening watching the rest of Sons of Anarchy Season 2 and painting these Nail Display things. After an hour I had an insane headache from the nail polish fumes, and from sniffing the permanent marker a bit too much.
