Smiggle Egg Clock & Nightmares

I bought this Smiggle Egg clock for my niece last year, in pink, and got myself one in blue.

It sits on our bedside table, doing nothing. It does not even have the correct time. I occasionally use it to check the room temperature but that is about it.

Early this week I woke up in the middle of the night a sweat, and S was handing me the egg clock. He was talking in his sleep and asking me to turn it off.
The egg only lights up and makes noises if you hover your hand over it, so he must have reached for it in his sleep when it started to make noises.

I was half asleep, unscrewing the damn battery case in the dark with my nail to turn it completly off, with S urging me to hurry up.

I asked him about it the next day and he has no recollection of it.

Very strange. If I hadn't have found it taken apart on the bedroom floor the next morning I would have thought it was a dream.
